Jacobs Startup Competition 2018


JSC is an international startup competition taking place in the English-speaking environment of Jacobs University Bremen on the 9th and 10th of March 2018. JSC welcomes students from all around the world with promising business ideas and will help you to grow your entrepreneurial ideas through an extensive mentorship program and cash prizes. After working on your ideas for two months you will get to present your ideas to venture capitalists, accelerators and professionals at our final event in Germany and compete with the other teams for cash prizes. Deadline for applications is the 26th of November.

Die Einsichtnahme zu der Klausur Social Entrepreneurship im 2. Prüfungszeitraum findet an folgenden Terminen in Raum 04 (UG) des Instituts für Betriebswirtschaftslehre statt:

  • Mittwoch, 22. November 2017, 10:00-10:30 Uhr
  • Mittwoch, 29. November 2017, 10:00-10:30 Uhr


Eine Einsichtnahme außerhalb dieser Termine ist nur in begründeten Ausnahmefällen möglich. Bitte wenden Sie sich in diesem Fall VOR dem Einsichtstermin an Frau Victoria Stark (vstark@bwl.uni-kiel.de).


The inspection of the examination results on Social Entrepreneurship (1st examination date) takes place on the following dates at the Institute for Business Research, room 04 (basement):

  • Wednesday, 22n November 2017, 10:00-10:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, 27th November 2017, 10:00-10:30 a.m.

Impressions from Social Entrepreneurship Workshop 2017


The second social entrepreneurship workshop was hosted by VHL Larenstein in Arnhem from May 6-13, 2017. A total of 26 students and 17 staff members from all partner institutions joined the workshop activities. Their aim was to generate social business models in reaction to local challenges identified in the urban landscape of Arnhem. The overall topic was on sustainable foodscapes, linking the city of Arnhem better to food production areas in its direct vicinity.

The strategic partnership 'Social entrepreneurship for local change' is funded by the ERASMUS+ grant program of the European Union. The project is jointly administered by HfWU Nürtingen, Germany; VHL Larenstein, Netherlands; Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania; University of Kiel, Germany; Estonian University of Life Sciences Tartu, Estonia; Heldenrat e.V., Germany; Odaida Creativa, Romania; and the Estonian Social Enterprise Network, Estonia.

Guest Lecture of The Refugee Law Clinic Kiel on 26 June


On Monday, 26 June, Emre Kücükkaraca will hold a guest lecture on the founding and development process of The Refugee Law Clinic Kiel e.V.

The Refugee Law Clinic Kiel is an initiative of students of the University of Kiel that offers free legal advice (pro bono) on questions of refugee law.
